Josh Sweat’s days as a man of mystery on area high school football fields didn’t last long. He was destined to be noticed.

Sweat opened last season on ESPNU in Oscar Smith High’s 42 2 win against Lake Taylor as an imposing unknown towering on the edge of the Oscar Smith’s defensive line alongside a more recognizable rising star in recruiting circles. By the end of the season, fans, coaches and scribes were openly comparing Sweat to Jadeveon Clowney, the No. 1 overall selection in this year’s NFL draft.
