died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston. In his early career, Bembery worked for the Town of Hookerton and served as a Deputy Sheriff for the Greene County Sheriff’s Department. After moving to Deep Run, he began his career with Barrus Construction, where he later retired. with Pastor Chris Rooks and Glenn Turner officiating. on Friday, June 1, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Pink Hill. Bembery is survived by his wife, Edna Lucille Carraway of the home; daughter Charlene Carraway Benner of Hookerton; two step daughters, Dr. Carraway of Bayboro; grandson William Edward Hargrove of Hookerton; and step grandchildren, Jessica Turner Keener and Laurin Michelle Turner of Goldsboro, David Turner, Bethany Turner, Sarah Turner, Kaitlyn Rooks, and Taylor Rooks of Deep Run, and Landon Cavanaugh, Logan Cavanaugh, and Luke Cavanaugh of Richlands; great grandchild Rebecca Lane Hargrove of Middlesex; several special nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
