I have been on this part of the Appalachian Trail for almost 20 years now. This is one of the best places to watch Hawks and Eagles cross thru the US during the early fall. Hawk Mountain Air Jordan 19s Sanctuary is along this part of the trail and is a wonderfull place to vist.

The climb is well worth the hike, during the fall you’ll see some wonderfull fall colors. The view from the up top across the valley is a picture worth taking.

There are 4 springs, they are well posted and safe to drink. They run all year long, and I’ve never found them with out water.

If your looking to see wildlife keep a look out because there are black bear and deer all along the mountain.

Spring time and early Fall are the best times to hike this part of the trail.

When your on a hike no matter where it is, try and use some common sense, wear the right footwear, always make sure they fit and your used to them. If the weather is hot then take your time, never rush a hike, enjoy it.
