More than 1,500 new adult athletic shoes will be given away Aug. 10 at the City Rescue Mission’s Thrift Store. to noon or while supplies last, according to a news release.

City Rescue Mission is a faith based nonprofit that provides emergency services for the homeless and programs to help them get off the street. The giveaway is open to the entire community

The specially labeled shoes from Inspire Christianity were supplied by an anonymous donor. Each shoe is labeled with "John 3:16" and "Walk in Love," as well as the Inspire Christianity logo, according to the release.

Shoes are available in adult women’s sizes 6 to 10 and men’s sizes 8 to 12. One pair of shoes will be given per person in the proper size only. Individuals must be present to receive shoes.

Also, City Rescue Mission will give away hot dogs at the event and offer 10 percent off all purchases and other specials, such as a a free one cup coffee maker with a $50 purchase, all while supplies last.
