Senior investigating officer Det Chief Supt Paul Johnston said he was delighted at the verdicts, describing Mark Burke and David Porter as “extremely dangerous individuals”.

He said: “These are people who regard themselves as Yardie gangsters and enjoy a degree of notoriety because of that.

Judge Paul Hoffman at Leeds Crown Court told him yesterday: “I class you as a very dangerous man and that is obvious from the nature of the offences of which Air Jordan 15s you have been convicted.”

It was Porter, the prosecution alleged, Air Jordan 23s who was the one who had dropped a Nike sports bag containing the four guns and ammunition out of the bedroom window as police raided the house.

A search of another house where Porter had been staying uncovered a loaded revolver and an unloaded pistol in a bag among his belongings.

Burke, although having no previous convictions, was described by the judge as a “dangerous and manipulative man” who had played a major role in the drug dealing operation.

The judge told him: “I don’t accept that you played a subordinate or subservient role to Porter as you claimed.

“The evidence I have heard is that you and Porter were close and habitual associates and it is not without significance that you were observed by Grant to say that by the end of the year you would be comfortable. I take that as a reference to the drug dealing.”

Following the raid which unearthed the drugs and guns at Roundhay Air Jordan 2011 Avenue, cocaine with with a value of 5,400 was found in a KFC takeaway food box in the bin at Burke’s home in Kimberley Place, Harehills.

He went on: “I recognise your role is significantly less than that of the men. You came under the influence of Mark Burke. It may be that you fell under his charm, but that doesn’t mean that you Air Jordan 17s went into this with your eyes closed.”

Claire Heyliger, who was acquitted, was a friend of Grant who said she had simply been visiting her friend and knew nothing of what was going on in the house.

Heroin was later found concealed at her home in Harehills and a loaded pistol was found in a handbag she owned. But she said she had not been living at the house at the time and the drugs and gun must have been placed there by another person.
